Lagi cerita pasal PPR

Posted by anak wilayah on April 1, 2010

Ni blog entri yang menarik untuk dibaca.

———————————————-

Kalau kat KL ni, cerita pasal projek perumahan rakyat memang tak habis. Kalau bukan pasal aduan-aduan kerosakan, mesti pasal permohonan untuk beli satu rumah di PPR. Tak pun mesti pasal kecoh kenapa tak layak nak beli satu. Kalau ikut logik, kenalah ada perancangan bandar, ye tak?

Ni artikel berita yang aku ambil dari blog Menteri Wilayah, Dato’ Raja Nong Chik. Baca jap.

32,762 unit rumah PPR dibina sekitar KL

KUALA LUMPUR 23 Mac.

Ehem. Tambah lagi? Biar betul Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha ni. Berani benar. Yelah. Bukan senang nak main tambah-tambah je PPR ni. Silap-silap tak seimbang la. Projek terbengkalai la. Silap plan habis la kawasan tu. Dah la ibu kota.

Aku ingat lagi, dulu aku pernah tengok adik aku main SimCity. Nampak macam senang. Macam tak mencabar je nampak. Tapi adik aku selalu kalah/rugi. Haha. Apa yang susah sangat? Bagi aku, samalah juga dalam realiti. Game tu pun memang ikut macam realiti. Sekolah, hospital, balai bomba, balai polis dan kemudahan awam lain, semua ada maintenance charge. Kalau silap susun sikit, jalan jam. Kalau silap plan sikit, tanah tak laku. Tak ada orang duduk. Pastu tax kurang. Last-last rugi. Isk isk. Kalau macam tu jadi ketua kampung pun tak lepas.

Nak dekat setahun dah Dato’ Raja Nong Chik jadi menteri wilayah, setakat ni aku rasa KPI dia memang power. Kalau setakat ada willpower je, takkan berjaya sampai sini. Jadi, tahniahlah pada Dato’ Raja Nong Chik!

Mesti Dato’ Raja Nong Chik terer main SimCity kan. Hehe. Apa-apa pun, good luck to Dato’ Raja Nong Chik.

Raja Nong Chik to conduct post-mortem on FT Ramadan bazaars

Posted by anak wilayah on September 24, 2009

Raja Nong Chik has come out with statement that we hope can solve the issue of Ramadan bazaars especially in KL and Klang Valley causing traffic problems. He said DBKL will conduct post mortems, reported by The Star, copypasted below.

This issue was especially raised regarding Jalan Masjid India, probably the biggest concentration of Ramadfan Bazaars one finds in KL. Syed of Outside the Box made plenty of noise about it.

YB Raja Nong Chik : Selamat Berbuka Puasa, Tolong Buka Jalan.
Terima Kasih YB Raja Nong Chik

The above you can read at Syed’s blog. Below is the star’s article.

PUTRAJAYA: A post-mortem will be conducted on the Ramadan bazaars this Hari Raya, said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.

“Everything went on smoothly. The situation was under control although there were many visitors and last-minute shoppers in the Masjid India and Medan Tunku area.

“We will conduct a post-mortem on all Ramdan bazaars in the Federal Territory to improve the arrangements,” he said at the Seri Perdana Hari Raya open house on Sunday which was hosted by the Prime Ministers and the Cabinet.

He said no complaints were received from the thousands of shoppers who thronged the Ramadan bazaars.

On the Open House, he said the warm reception strengthened the 1Malaysia concept and the spirit of unity which was an asset to the country.

PPR’s lift problems will see an end thanks to effort of Raja Nong Chik

Posted by anak wilayah on June 20, 2009

When he first got appointed as FT Minister, one of the first thing our new Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik did was to propose the way lifts at PPR flats throughout KL are being maintained. See below.

The issue is not new, you can read more about it here.

So with relief and hope, we read now that DBKL after all these years are taking a new approach by setting up a special team just to handle the lift maintenance issue. Read below, taken from Utusan.

DBKL tubuh pasukan selenggara lif

“Penduduk hanya membayar sewa sebanyak RM124 termasuk kos penyenggaraan sedangkan DBKL terpaksa menanggung kos baik pulih sebanyak RM300 sebulan.

City Hall Propose To Build Pedestrian Bridges To Prevent Snatch Theft

Posted by anak wilayah on May 17, 2009

KUALA LUMPUR, May 13 (Bernama) — The Kuala Lumpur City Hall has proposed to build pedestrian bridges and trees along pavements to curb an increase in snatch thefts cases.

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail said the building of pedestrian bridges would be focused on areas frequented by tourists, like the Bukit Bintang area.

“I have asked my officers to conduct a study together with an institution but we must first look at the implications before building. The proposal is still at the initial stage,” he told Bernama at his office here, Wednesday.

“Trees to be planted along walking paths can prevent snatch thieves from riding their motorcycles in such areas.”

Asked about a proposal to bar motorcycles from entering the city centre, Ahmad Fuad said City Hall had never made such a proposal.

He added that the proposal came from the police but the pros and cons of such a proposal must be studied in depth because it would incur a lot of hardship for those working as dispatch boys or those working on shifts.

Squatters to get houses by year-end

Posted by anak wilayah on May 15, 2009

KUALA LUMPUR: The remaining 4,967 families who are squatting on government land are expected to be relocated to public housing schemes by the end of the year.

Mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail hopes that the long-standing squatter problem could be solved soon with the cooperation of the families.

“The government’s initial aim was to rid the city of squatters by 2005 but the target could not be met because of insufficient public housing,” he said at the weekly meet- the-press session at City Hall.

Fuad said 5,660 units of public housing would be ready next month.

To date, the government has built 27,102 units of public housing around the city.

He said that currently, there were 3,668 units of public housing available.

“By June, there will be 9,328 units available. With the additional units, we shouldn’t have any problem relocating the families, provided they accept the offer,” he said.

Fuad said there were 20,000 applicants from the lower-income group who were waiting for public housing. — By Noel Achariam

We should be thankful to garbage collectors

Posted by anak wilayah on April 28, 2009

Raja Nong Chik is still new in his current position, Federal Territories Minister and it is mere 2 weeks since the appointment announced by Najib. He visited DBKL to learn about DBKL’s way of work, he visited people who are poor but live within KL area and so on. In one way or the other, the leaders should know what’s going on in their territories, otherwise no work done or no balance in work.

On the other hand, if the workers lack in spirit to do their works, also will affect the performance and it is applicable to all, no exceptional. Here an article I read in TheStar Online, about a worker who takes pride in his work. Well, he is a garbage collector. Don’t underestimate this job. If they don’t exist, I can’t even imgine how we will live. In Japan, the salary for a part-time garbage collector is almost the same amount as the salary an engineer received in Malaysia.

Here is the article.

Garbage collectors take pride in keeping city clean

GARBAGE collector Mat Shah Ali, 49, has been working in the business for 27 years from his days at Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL). It has been 12 years since he has been with Alam Flora.

His job takes a lot more patience and endurance than expected. This was because the stench from the garbage and dripping leachate could leave a normal person feeling sick for days.

But for the garbage collectors, they don’t feel disgusted or sick. It is their bread and butter. They do it more with pride, as they are the people responsible for keeping our neighbourhood and city always clean.

StarMetro, who followed these men on a round recently, realised that it is tiring to walk from one rubbish bin to another under the blazing sun.

Normal procedure: The garbage truck is weighed before going into the transfer station.

Mat Shah said: “People do not cooperate when it comes to disposal of waste. They never put it a plastic or even in bins.

“But it is my responsibility to carry out this job efficiently even though there are risks.

He said his hand was cut several times due to broken glass thrown in the garbage.

For Latiff Jaafar, 50 the most important element lacking is cooperation among the people pertaining to waste disposal.

He said if everyone worked together, it would make his job a lot easier to collect garbage.

“People like to throw rubbish indiscriminately, which is a bad attitude. But I am proud to have been given the responsibility because I am helping the society,” he said.

“There is still a lack of awareness among people about how to dispose of garbage properly with some piling their rubbish in front of the shops instead of the back,” he said.

When asked if he ever gets nauseated, Latiff who has been in this line for 26 years said the smell never bothered him.

Alam Flora senior manager Dzulkarnain Abu Bakar said the collection started early in the morning with the compactors making two trips to an area. Then the garbage will be disposed of by the Alam Flora at the transfer station in Kepong at about 11am and 3pm.

The transfer station operator will then continue the disposal of garbage to Bukit Tagar in Hulu Selangor. Collection will be done daily seven times a week for commercial areas and three times a week for hosuing estates.

“What happens at the landfill area is that the garbage will be covered with the landfill material. The separation is also done before it goes to the landfill area. Our main objective is about reducing the waste as well as recycling, which will help lengthen the life of the landfill.

“Domestic waste tops as the most garbage disposed followed by plastic.

“Based on our statistics the amount of waste is increasing so it is important to create awareness to reduce it,” he said.

He said there was a possibility a city could be filled with garbage if people continued to dispose of waste the same way.
